Where have our leaders been? I am amazed as I watch politicians (including my opponent) scramble to get on the alternative energy bandwagon. Are you buying it?

I have worked as a consultant for a respected environmental firm for nearly a decade. I have traveled coast to coast and reported on alternative and renewable energy use at our nation's airports. I have visited with civic and industry leaders in the world of alternative and renewable energy since the late 1990's.

I will bring more than empty words to alternative and renewable energy. I will bring proven enthusiasm and support for alternative and renewable energy. I will also fight the complacency that have driven us to this point.

The picture above is me at a Frito-Lay plant in California. They have succeeded in using solar energy to generate around 25% of the energy for their plant. It is amazing! We need to show examples of success to industry. Until we can demonstrate the economic feasibility of alternatives to private industry, they will not succeed. Our state government can and should play a role in encouraging and demonstrating financially successful implementation of alternative and renewable energy. It can be done and I will be an enthusiastic supporter.
